Looking Ahead to Fall

I hope you had a wonderful Labor Day weekend to celebrate the unofficial end to summer. Though the summer season doesn’t really end until September 22, I’ve already started to feel the change in the air.

The loud din of cicadas has given way to the gentle song of crickets. My favorite stores are featuring back to school sales and fall decorations. And I find myself planning fall adventures in my studio. Making lists. Tidying up. Getting ready for what is next.

I’ve been learning so much about making videos over the last few weeks. I’m looking forward to cooler weather to explore outdoor spaces and test out my new skills.

I’m also exploring new avenues for my business and have been researching ways to produce my own products to start selling in local shops or on my own website. And I’m learning more about how to pitch my work to companies for licensing opportunities.

As I think about these new plans, I can’t help but think back to last year at this time. My business didn’t have a name or a website. There was no weekly newsletter. No Instagram account. No products for sale. It’s been a year of learning so far. And a year of firsts for Sunlight Forest.

I’m excited to see what’s ahead, but also want to take the time to savor this season, take lots of pictures, and enjoy the journey.

Thanks for being part of the magic. I hope you are savoring the end of summer and making exciting plans for the fall season ahead.
